Super Sky Products began in 1923 when Walter Belau founded Super Steel Products, a company that manufactured fireproof windows and hollow metal doors. In 1929 he added a skylight division.
Due to the success of the skylight division, it was separated from Super Steel Products in 1959, when it officially became Super Sky Products. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Belau sold Super Steel Products in order to devote more time to his skylight business.
In the 1950’s, Super Sky relocated to an old slaughterhouse in Mequon when the new freeway system in Milwaukee County became destined to go through its Downtown Milwaukee facility.
Due to dramatic growth during the next decade, Super Sky Products built and moved into its current 115,000 sq. ft. facility in 1967.
In 1987, Super Sky was purchased by Feltrax, a New Zealand company. Feltrax was then purchased the following year by BTR Nylex Ltd., which also owned ACI America.
In 1992, ACI America, Inc. was acquired by Vitro S.A., the largest glass manufacturer in Mexico.
